We at ABV-IIITM are very particular about our environment and take all efforts to conserve it. Nearly four-fifths of the total campus being under green cover the campus of this institute is well-endowed with flora and fauna. In addition to our extensive wooded areas, new trees are planted every year to make the institute premise greener. Apart from branched trees, a conscious effort is made in planting flowering and ornamental plants too. Different varieties of roses, chrysanthemum and dahlias are grown in beds and flowering pots.
Among fruit trees, we have successfully grown guava and amla trees in this campus. These plants bear fruit during October – February. This green coverage has contributed to the existence of an enviable fauna collection. You could see peacocks strutting around with their families, cranes pecking out insects from plants, swallows perched on overhead strings, or egrets on lookout for snails. Of course, you have the ubiquitous squirrel all around to enthral you throughout the day.
There are demarcated areas for peacocks and butterfly conservatory within the campus. Butterflies in myriad colours and patterns are a delight to watch during flowering seasons. Lovers of nature would love to spend their time within the enriched gardens of IIITM.
